What to say!
Well, as it’s going on my website, let’s talk about my photography and my images. I have been taking photographs since I was teenager but then work and a career got in the way. Fast forward a few years, and I met my lovely husband and we got married and we had a baby. This ignited my interest back into photography. Now the baby is 20 years old, and now I’m free to get out to explore.
My photography has been important to me over the years because it has been a way of dealing with my mental health wellbeing, it made me stop and look at nature and taking photographs makes me stand still in the moment, to be calm and that’s what I want people to see, stand still for the moment and look at an image whether it’s nature, landscape, wildlife and or just recently standing watching an aeroplane display.
Being in Cambridgeshire, we are surrounded by the Fens, we have plenty of nature reserves to visit (RSPB, Sculthorpe Moor Reserve, National Trust) or just walking down the road and we are surrounded by wildlife. But I have also tried going further afield and in the last couple of years have taken images in Yorkshire. Photography is ever evolving and a few years ago, I joined a local Photographic Club in Ely. I have taken part in their competitions as well as the exhibitions that we have done.
So, I came to a point where I wanted to do more with my photography, I wasn’t happy it just sitting on my laptop or just being viewed at competitions or exhibitions (I had sold a few images at the exhibitions). And I took a big step, with the backing of my family, and started a website. My website has lots of my images, from birds, wildlife, landscape, flowers, butterflies & insects, to places that I have been to recently Watatunga Reserve Kings Lynn, WW2 memorial flight at IWM Duxford. Based on my images, I have started making greeting cards, just to take it a step further, and maybe in the future a bit further on. So for now, my website is full of images, ideal for gifts, home/office décor but greeting cards. At present, Christmas cards but soon spring will be upon us and there will be greetings to reflect that.
Thanks for reading and I will get better at this.
